Today’s One Minute To Connect video is from James Keddington, a fellow 801′er* who blogs over at MBL (my business life). You can also find James on Twitter.

*For those that don’t know, Salt Lake City is the 801.

James reminds us that it’s important to be interested, not necesarily interesting. In his own words,

I am a pretty outgoing person – but even still it is very difficult and intimidating for me to branch out and extend to new relationships. One piece of advice I received a number of years ago was to “be interested, not interesting.” This piece of advice forces you to come up with questions to learn about others. When you follow this, the law of reciprocity kicks in and before you know it you have robust dialogues happening and a whole lot of new friends.

Learn more abut what he means in his 51 seconds of advice.

Today’s One Minute To Connect video is from Jay Baer of Convince and Convert fame. You can find Jay on Twitter or his blog. Not only is Jay a natural connector, he also happens to be one of the smartest, kindest, most helpful people that I know. He just wrote a book with another smart, kind, helpful person, Amber Naslund. Read more about their book, The Now Revolution. Finally, Jay has a way with words. His analogies and references to random stuff give his posts flavor. Combine that with killer content, and Jay’s blog is one that I read all of the time – literally every single post. Did I mention he has a killer blog?

Jay suggests that we should connect with a purpose.

Listen more to what Jay’s advice is to connect in his 60 … err … 92 seconds of fame.
